Entries sought for Juvenile championships

THE 2010 Wexford Juvenile championship will take place in the Astra Active Centre, Enniscorthy, on Friday, April 2.

Play will commence at 10 a.m. for the Under-11s and Under-15s. The Under-13s and Under-17s will start at 1 p.m.

There will be singles and doubles only for the Under-11s and Under-13s, while the older Under-13s and Under-17s will have competitions in all three disciplines - singles, level doubles and mixed doubles.

The entry fee is ¤4 per event and all entries should be sent to Nicholas Murphy, Coolcull, Taghmon, Co. Wexford. The qualifying date for each event is midnight on December 31, 2009, and all entrants must be registered with the County Wexford Badminton Association and Badminton Ireland.


Wexford will be represented in the All-Ireland Schools finals this week by Good Counsel College (New Ross) and Loreto Convent (Wexford).

Both schools will be competing in Division 1, and the Loreto team is Aoife Dunne, Eimear Dunne, Ciara Dunne and Clodagh Kent.


Congratulations to Nicholas Murphy (Taghmon) and Karen Butler (Davidstown) who have been selected for the Irish Under-15 team for the upcoming quadrangular tournament.
