Final guidelines released

THE COST for a child to stay as a resident at the national finals in Athlone from May 28-30 is ¤105. This covers accommodation for Friday and Saturday nights and dinner on Friday evening, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday, with residents leaving the venue on Sunday evening. The cost for a non-resident is ¤25.

Areas should take note that there will be no refund for cancellations, so do make sure that your competitors and parents know this beforehand, as it could become costly on an Area if they have some people pulling out.

National Community Games are also requesting that each county provide a national security officer, car parking official, steward and a gate collector, so if there is someone from your Area interested, please contact the County Secretary as soon as possible.

Participants who were registered last year do not have to submit their birth certs. or photos this year. Again, Area Secretaries should check that these children have their I.D. badge from last year. If some have been lost, contact the County Secretary immediately. A replacement badge costs ¤5.

Wexford have been drawn number six in the county draws, and they have been asked to submit a child's name for the presentation committee.

The cost for a resident for the August weekends (August 13-15 and August 20-22) will be ¤120 and ¤25 for a nonresident. Residents here will stay on camp until Monday.

All the results from the Leinster team finals held in Carlow on Sunday last will be in next week's column. A reminder to team managers to forward a report on their matches, events etc.
