Well done to Emmet Cousins who was swimming for Scoil Mhuire (Coolcotts) at the Leinster Minor Schools championships at the National Aquatic Centre recently.

Emmet was chasing his fourth Leinster Minor Schools gold in four years in the 50m backstroke. He had a great start, went out fast and powered to the wall to finish first by .24 of a second, securing the gold with a new personal best of 35.43 seconds.

Emmet will go on to represent Scoil Mhuire at the Irish Minor Schools championships in the 50m backstroke and 100m individual medley in February.

Emmet is a member of Wexford Swimming Club, Wexford Pool and Surf Lifesaving Club, and was selected again this year to the Leinster Swimming Skills Academy.
