COURTOWN

Saturday was a busy day in the club as we held our Captains' drive-in. Our lady Captain, Bronagh, and men's Captain, Alan, arrived in style just after 1 p.m. in a very well-decorated Ryder Cup-themed train. Fair play to all involved, there was a great turn-out and all made their way to the first tee for the planting of the tree by the Captains before there was champagne all round (non-alcoholic for our Junior Captains!).

Next was the unenviable task of driving off on the first tee in front of a large crowd, but we need not have worried as both our Captains hit them straight down the middle as did our Junior Captains.

We would like to thank all involved in making the day a great success and the weather even managed to hold up.

Saturday kicked off the start of the golfing year and we have a very busy schedule in the coming months. We wish the Captains, Junior Captains and Presidents all the best for the coming golfing year.

Well done to the lads who played on Saturday when any score in the low 30s was an achievement!
