Karlow James in control

The Droopys Stud A3 575 was the feature race on Thursday's card at Enniscorthy and there was a very impressive seven and a half length winner when Karlow James by local stud dog Kiltrea Kev put up a superb run of 31.23 to record his seventh and most important career success so far.

Karlow is certainly on the upgrade and the future looks bright over extended trips in the coming months.

The first round of the Speedrite Racer A3 got under way and Piercestown Away went quickest of the four heats when taking heat four, recording his sixth race win in a fast 28.75.

This looks a very competitive stake and this week's semi-finals are expected to be very tightly-contested races.

There was a good attendance on Monday night for the first round of the unraced stake, and local owner John Murphy had a good night by winning two heats.

Yogis Hamstring was first up in heat two and a child's voice was heard shouting out, 'come on Yogi'…brilliant, just what the game is all about.

In heat three then Black Bolger got home to complete the double. Ballinclare Earl was impressive when winning heat four for Eilish McCann (Gorey), and another Gorey owner, Laurence A. Byrne, enjoyed a good win in heat five.

His Alien Ticker was eye-catching when overcoming a poor break and being carried very wide at the first bend before quickly putting the race to bed to score easily in the quickest of the heats, a time of 29.02.

The second round will take place this Thursday night and times are expected to be quick across the boards.
