Murphy makes Leinster senior debut
Enniscorthy's Josh Murphy continued his progress at the top level when he made his Guinness PRO 14 debut on Friday.
The Enniscorthy native, son of local solicitor John Murphy, played his club rugby with U.C.D. before progressing through the Leinster Academy, having played for both Leinster and Ireland at under-age level.
Murphy was handed his senior debut in difficult circumstances against Glasgow Warriors, since the home side were rampant against a depleted Leinster outfit, without its string of international players.
However, Murphy played a key role in helping the side recover from the concession of four first-half tries, having come on as a 69th-minute replacement for Jordi Murphy. Leinster eventually lost out 31-21, failing to gain a bonus point and leaving them to drop down to fourth spot in their group.
