On the fairways
Pauline's Society: Gowran Park hosted our most recent outing which was played in a three-man team scramble.
Underfoot conditions were very heavy but, notwithstanding the challenge, good scoring was the order of the day.
On tricky greens, the team of Colin Fenlon, Craig Tracey and Michael Katus were first past the post.
They were followed closely behind by Mick Butler, Joe Malone and Pat McGrath. Third place went to Liam Connolly, Frank McGuinness and Dickie O'Neill.
Only one nearest the pin winner was returned, and it went to that man again, Joe Malone. He must have a shed-full of golf balls by now!
Our next venture will be the occasion of President's Day which will be hosted by Colin Fenlon. He has chosen no less a course than Macreddin, which will prove a huge challenge to all. It's no place for old men and young boys!
Saturday, March 3, with a tee-off time of 10 a.m. is the target. All those intending to travel should have their names posted on the noticeboard in the bar before 8 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27.
As this is one of the primary outings of the year, we would appeal to all members to make it a well-supported day out.
Players should also note that motorised buggies are included in the package. Please note that these buggies should only be driven on the pathway provided, and not on grassed areas.
