Róisín shows the way

ROISIN KENNY from Gorey was part of the Irish Pony Showjumping team which stormed to victory in the Nations Cup in Fontainebleau, France.

Kenny joined team-mates Tom Foley, Eoin McMahon and Emma O'Dwyer on the winners' podium at the international show, after a thrilling jump-off for first place. This is the second year in a row that Ireland's pony riders have won the French Nations Cup competition.

Saturday's win was followed by two Grand Prix wins on Sunday, to complete an Irish whitewash at the French show.

From the 19 international classes that ran at the event, Irish riders were in the prize money in all classes.

Outright wins in 12 of those 19 classes meant Ireland's pony riders dominated at the event. Róisín Kenny enjoyed a week of top-class competition, winning the Nations Cup and placing in a further three classes. Full results are on www.horsesportireland.ie
