Swimmers make a big splash at finals

NEW ROSS swimming pool was the venue recently for the county finals of the Community Games swimming competitions. In recent years the entries have been dwindling and this year was no exception, with entries in the older age groups down to straight finals.

Competition in the Under-8/10/12 events were the most keenly-contested. Wexford Community Games wish to thank the management and staff of the New Ross pool for the use of their excellent facilities, to David Edwards and Martin Kirby, to Ciarán Walsh and all who gave of their services to see that the events were run off smoothly.

Congratulations to all the young people who competed so well for their Areas, and good luck to those who will be representing Wexford at the national finals in Athlone in August.
