Oulart-The Ballagh side just can't be stopped

Junior 'C' Camogie Final: Oulart/Ballagh 4-19 Oylegate-G'brien 0-5

Jason Goodison at Bree

Oulart-The Ballagh dismantled Oylegate-Glenbrien on their way to the Wexford Camogie Junior 'C' Championship in Bree on Saturday night.

Oulart controlled the game from start to finish and the 26-point margin of victory does little to flatter them or their performance.

With Diane Ryan's first of ten points, they got the scoreboard ticking with less than a minute on the clock.

Oulart never lost their lead after Ryan's early score and by the 10th minute they were already seven ahead. Niamh Sinnott pulled home after Aine Sheridan's shot was saved to register the game's opening goal during this period.

While Oylegate cancelled out two Sheridan and Ryan points with their first scores of the game - Aleisha Cullen and Megan Storey on target for the Glenbrien side - The Ballagh soon had the ball in the net again as it looked clear that the game as already getting away from their opponents.

The green flag was raised on this occasion by Ryan, she finished low after Laura Sinnott's pass.

Sheridan and Ryan pointed once more each before the interval, leaving the score at 2-8 to 0-2 at the break.

Oulart's first score after the restart ended any real hope of an Oylegate comeback. Orla Nimmo got herself on the scoresheet as she quickly stepped inside and fired high past Yvonne Doyle.

From there, Oulart began to pick their points as they opened up a sizeable lead. Ryan pointed five more times, while Rachel Sinnott, Eimear O'Connor and Rebecca O'Sullivan all notched to extend the advantage.

Oylegate only managed one point in the opening 25 minutes of the second half when Caroline Doyle found Mairead Cummins to tap over and by the time their second point of the half came around the scoreline was looking even more bleak.

Substitute Aoife Brown raised the green flag for the final time as she finished across Doyle's goal into the right bottom corner and Sheridan, Laura Sinnott and Ryan all minored to complete Oulart's impressive tally of 4-19.

Laura Kelly and Aleisha Cullen added late points for the girls in blue but it did little to spoil Oulart's evening as they closed out a comforable win to take the Junior 'C' Championship trophy home.
