Brave Courtown beaten by Killester

COURTOWN HIBS put up a brave performance before eventually going down 3-2 after extra-time against Killester United on Sunday.

AUL kingpins Killester were quick out of the blocks on their home patch and took the lead in the first minute but Courtown, who were missing some regulars, didn't let their heads drop and Leighton Gleeson rose highest to head home the equaliser on the half hour mark.

Gleeson put the visitors in front early in the second-half with a fine strike, but Killester forced extra-time with an 80th-minute equaliser.

With a penalty shoot-out looking on the cards, Courtown were hit with a sucker-punch three minutes from time when Killester grabbed a disputed winner. However, Hibs can be proud of their performance.
