Cloughbawn close in on the saints
Cloughbawn closed to within a point of leaders St. Cormac's, with a game in hand, by overcoming their rivals 2-0 on Sunday.
Martin Kehoe opened the scoring from the penalty spot, after Páidí Cullen cut through the defence and was fouled in the area.
The second goal came after a slick passing move from Cloughbawn, with Barry Carton and Gavin Murphy linking up well to put Connal Flood through and he finished with aplomb, chipping the 'keeper.
Both goalkeepers made great stops, with the St. Cormac's netminder saving point-blank efforts from Flood and Páidíe Cullen, while Cloughbawn goalkeeper Billy Dunne put in a man of the match performance.
Crossabeg moved into third spot with a 3-2 away win over bottom side Wexford Celtic, with Conor Maddock, Ciarán Marlow and Barry Coughlan scoring for the winners.
Martin Flynn was the star man for Killenagh Wanderers, as his hat-trick earned them a 3-1 win over Adamstown, with Colin Purcell replying.
Taghmon United were convincing winners in their derby clash with Stoney Rovers, running out facile 8-0 winners.
