Corach in strong position

Division 1

Corach Ramblers are in a strong position to challenge for the Division 1 title in the new year as they saw off St. Cormac's 2-0 on Sunday.

Richie Walsh and Ollie Murphy got on the scoresheet for the winners in a repeat of last season's Neil O'Sullivan Cup final.

Bridge Rovers will also have silverware in their sights in 2017 and they ran out 5-2 winners over St. Joseph's in Kilmuckridge with goals from Ray McGlone (two), Oisin Firman, Niall Murphy and Shane Murphy.

Tombrack rounded of the year in pleasing fashion as they overran Curracloe 6-0.

The hosts held a 2-0 advantage at the break thanks to goals from Richie O'Hara and Eoin Carton and when James Coleman added a third shortly after the interval there was no way back for the seasiders,

Quick-fire goals from Jamie Walshe and Tommy Devereux midway through the half made it 5-0, and Walshe rounded off a resounding win with his second late on.
