Five U-12 teams in Leinster blitz

A SMALLER than expected entry was received for the league qualifier of the Under-12 National Cup and as the league had been allocated five places in next weekend's Leinster blitz, the five teams who had entered have automatically qualified.

The five teams in question are Bree United, Shelburne, Bunclody AFC, Tombrack United and Rosslare Rangers and details, kick-off times, etc will be forwarded to these clubs during the week. The league would like to wish all five the best of luck as they represent Wexford in their quest to reach the national finals. Under-14 trials

The final trials for the Under-14 League Training Centre will take this place this Thursday in St. Joseph's, beginning at seven o'clock sharp and ending at 8.30. This is the final opportunity for players to put themselves forward for the league training centre so it is vital that all interested players attend.

Players born in 1997 and 98 are eligible for these trials and if a player cannot attend for a valid reason must contact the league on 087 2697074 or Barry Dempsey on 086 8092020.

Players must have a genuine reason for non attendance and to progress to the final 25 they will be encouraged to attend this final trial. Kick-off

The league prepares to kick off on Sunday, September 26, with the adult league kicking off with the biggest entry to date with 37 teams.

The schoolgirls league will kick off the following Saturday with under tens, fourteens and eighteens followed by under twelves and sixteens a week later. If there are any clubs who wish to enter extra teams at underage level should do so immediately by contacting the league on 087 4144317.
