Forth must beat Campile for safety

THE CARLTON Millrace Premier Division relegation issue will be decided tomorrow when Forth Celtic and Campile United go toe-to-toe in Murrintown.

Only a win will suffice for the hosts though. Anything less than that will see them consigned to the relegation/promotion play-off against one of St. Leonards, Bridge Rovers, Moyne Rangers, Curracloe United, New Ross Town or Park Hotspur. Victory on Wednesday would see Gorey Rangers hauled down alongside Forth Celtic though, and Celtic possess the superior goal difference.

Concentrating on matches that have been played, North End United cemented their status as the second-best team in Wexford on Wednesday evening last. They racked up eight unanswered goals in their clash against Adamstown in Hollygrove.

Wexford Bohs were the side hoping to prise United out of second spot but they won't be doing so anymore. They did sign off for the season with a handsome 4-1 triumph over Campile United though.

Derek Bergin, John Carty, Gary Byrne and Alan Flood were all on target for the Drinagh outfit.

There was nothing at stake in Tom O'neill Park where Campile United met New Ross Celtic. The tie went the way of the home side as they ran out 2-1 winners.

Anthony Feeney landed the visitors' effort.
