Killenagh progress in cup

KILLENAGH WANDERERS continued their good season when accounting for a stubborn Tombrack side who were still in the game at 1-1 at half-time, but ran out of steam in the end to lose 5-1.

Marian Kavanagh scored two with Isobel Naughter, Aisling Carroll and Laura Stafford all adding one each for the home side, while Ashling Kavanagh scored a spectacular longrange effort for Tombrack just before half-time.

In the league, Bunclody travelled to Coolgreany and came away 4-2 winners to edge a point clear at the top. Maebh Hughes and Martina Walsh scored for Celtic but a goal each from Elaine Casey and Nicole Fortune as well as two from Nicola Davitt put the visitors in control.

New Ross Celtic completed their season when travelling to St. Joseph's and coming away 5-2 winners, with Marcella Cullen and Rosie Bennett scoring two each to add to a spectacular goal from Joanne Murphy, while Aoife Kavanagh grabbed both goals for the home side.
