Killenagh's third cup success in ten days
Killenagh Wanderers 2, St. Leonards 1: A breezy Cloughbawn saw these sides produce an incident-filled Ger Dunne Under-16 Cup final before Killenagh eventually secured their third cup final win inside ten days.
Playing with the wind, St. Leonards opened the scoring when Lauren Egan gave the Killenagh 'keeper no chance after 15 minutes. They were given a massive opportunity to double that lead before the break when awarded a penalty which went just wide, and they went in still 1-0 up at the break.
Killenagh used the wind to its fullest advantage in the second-half and levelled through Cailin Fitzpatrick, and with ten minutes to go Sinéad Gaynor scored what proved to be the winner.
Tom 'Flash' Dunne was on hand to present the cup to the newly-crowned winners, while St. Leonards player Ciara Ryan was awarded player of the match.
