Late equaliser foils Wexford

U-19 side draws on Leeside

An Adam O'Sullivan goal in the second minute of injury time agonisingly denied Wexford F.C. all three points in their Under-19 Southern Elite Division match at College Corinthians on Sunday.

Cork City 1 Wexford F.C. 1

The Slaneysiders won their opening fixture against Limerick F.C. 3-2, and when Eoin Porter turned in a corner to put them in front on 59 minutes it looked like another impressive victory was on the cards.

However, they couldn't hold out to take a notable scalp, with O'Sullivan pouncing to level matters with 91 minutes on the clock.

Cobh Ramblers 2, Wexford F.C. 1: Two goals in the opening 28 minutes condemned Wexford F.C. to a narrow defeat in the Under-17 Southern Elite Division at St. Colman's Park on Sunday.

Cameron Harlson fired the Cork side in front from 25 yards with just six minutes on the clock, and when Eoin Donovan headed home Jack Turner's cross to double their tally in the 28th minute it looked to be plain sailing for the hosts.

However, the visitors rallied well and captain Liam Berry gave them a fighting chance when he pulled a goal back on 56 minutes.
