Martin Flynn was the star man for Killenagh Wanderers as they began the season in style with a 4-2 derby win over local rivals St. Joseph's.
Flynn netted all four goals for his side, with Brendan McCreary and Seán Keane replying for Joey's.
Last season's Division 2A champions Cloughbawn adapted quickly to life in a higher grade, winning 2-0 away to Stoney Rovers, with Barry Carton and Paidi Cullen getting their goals.
Crossabeg edged out Adamstown 3-2 with the winners scoring through Ciarán Marlow, Barry Coughlan and an own goal, with Johnny Connors and Alan Bradley replying.
New Ross Town also eked out a 3-2 triumph, overcoming Taghmon United with goals from Anthony Rossiter (two) and Shane Murray. William Codd got both goals for Taghmon.
Keith Keeling was the scorer for Wexford Celtic as they drew 1-1 with Fastnet Rovers, with Kevin Walsh hitting the back of the net for the visitors.
