Rovers in control

SHAMROCK ROVERS moved a step closer to the title with a 2-0 win over Raheen at the weekend. Willie Dobbs and Emmet Quirke got the goals for the league leaders.

Bunclody took advantage of North End's 2-1 loss to Blackwater to move into second place, beating Bree United 2-1 with goals from Patrick Skelton and David Reck.

Orrill United won 4-2 in Crossabeg with goals from James Byrne, John Cullen, Terry Flynn and Ed Cahill, with Gavin Levingstone and Donnacha Redmond replying for Crossabeg.

Ballagh were far too strong for bottom side Adamstown, winning 6-0 with goals from Tommy Murphy (two), Ben Nolan, John Murphy, Paul Fortune and Peter Pender, while Caim edged out Wexford Celtic 1-0.
