Title joy on the double for Shamrock Rovers

SHAMROCK ROVERS are on course for a remarkable hattrick of titles after securing the Division 2A and Division 4 trophies on Sunday.

Their flagship team are odds-on to win the Premier Division title, which would complete a stunning year for the Enniscorthy club, with all their adult sides winning their respective divisions.

The Division 2A side clinched the title in style on Sunday, beating Bunclody 7-1 with doubles from Thomas Thorpe and Clive O'Brien and singles from Willie Dobbs, Andrew Cooney and John Dobbs. The team, managed by Seamus Dobbs and Laurence Dwyer, have impressed all season, losing only one game.

The Division 4 side, with Davy O'Connor and Tom Meagher at the helm, secured the crown with a 2-0 win against Gorey Rangers. Gavin Doyle and David Kearney got the goals to kickstart the celebrations.

Elswhere in Division 2A, Cushinstown finished off their campaign with a 2-0 win over Rosslare Strand. Nicky Sinnott curled in a great opener from distance and James Whelan finished well to wrap up the points.
