Women with Ireland
Three Wexford Youths Women were away on international duty recently.
Ace goalscorer Claire O Riordan was with Colin Bell's Senior squad in their winning World cup qualifier against Northern Ireland in Lurgan where the Irish crew started their campaign with a 2-0 victory.
Goalkeeper Sophie Lenehan played the full 90 minutes in an Under-19 friendly international against Austria, putting in an impressive performance in a 1-1 draw.
Midfielder Orla Casey also came on in that game, played in Austria, and further enhanced her growing international reputation with another fine performance.
All three will be in contention for a place in the starting line-up in a crucial Women's National League game away to U.C.D. Waves this coming Sunday in Jackson Park, with kick-off at 2.30 p.m.
With the Youths on top of the table with just three games left, the Wexford squad will be striving for a victory to consolidate the top spot in their quest for a third Continental Tyres National League title in the last four seasons.
They have also been granted home venue for the forthcoming Cup semi-final against Cork, with the game down for decision in Bunclody on October 7.
