Wexford Youths make the long journey north to face table toppers Finn Harps in the final game of the first half of the season.

Youths go into the game having beaten Athlone 2-0 on Tuesday night, the same team that ended Finn Harps unbeaten start to the season on June 5. Manager Shane Keegan is looking to capitalise on the good mood brought by Tuesdays win,

'We didn't perform against Athlone but came out with the win. Sometimes winning games when you play bad is oddly more satisfactory than when you win comprehensively like we have over Cabinteely recently.'

Playing three games in a week has taken a toll on the squad, with recovery times between games being diminished. Both Conor Whittle (hamstring) and Dean Broaders (achilles) are out while Youths have concerns over Peter Higgins (hamstring), Craig Wall (knee), Eric Molloy (calf) and Danny Furlong (knee).

Having lost to a single Thomas McMonagle goal in Ferrycarrig Park this season, Shane Keegan's men will use the defeat in the previous encounter as an extra motivating factor ahead of Friday's encounter.

Keegan said 'Having played every team in this division, it's clear that there isn't any one team way better than anyone else in this league. Finn Harps might be top of the league but we're travelling to Finn Park with absolutely no fear.'

Kick off in Ballybofey is set for 8pm
