Under-13 double in very busy week
ENNISCORTHY UNDER-13s had a very busy week and recorded two good wins in the SouthEast league.
The first was a re-fixed game played under lights in Wexford versus Wexford Wanderers. This was a real cracker with two very evenlymatched sides.
The home team struck early with a very good try which wasn't converted. Enniscorthy fought back well and, with lots of pressure, Colm O' Brien scored a try which was converted by Tom White.
Wexford responded with a breakaway try from David McDonald and it was converted. The Enniscorthy forwards put on a lot of pressure and they were awarded a penalty which Tom White converted, making the half-time score 12-10.
The second-half was a very tight affair and the game was decided midway through when Sebastian Pim intercepted a pass and ran from halfway to score a super try and Tom White converted. The final few minutes were very tense but Enniscorthy held out for the win on a scoreline of 17-12.
Their second game was much easier in the rain when they accounted for Wicklow 38-0. Scores were, tries from Colm O'Brien, Sebastian Pim, Michael Kinsella (two), Donal Harrington and Tom White who also converted four tries.
